My Kitchen!

I'm sooooo looking forward to my new kitchen.  I love the space and the storage it will have.  Lots of natural light, and a huge butlers pantry for food and appliances, and the shelves are not so deep that I have to dive in to get to items at the back.  And the glass window splashback will look out over our land with trees swaying gently in the breeze - I can day dream whilst I'm stirring pots on the stove :)

This is what we've chosen...

Base cabinets - Licorice Linea, natural finish (not glossy)

Cabinet handles - Belluno (matt chrome)

Overhead cabinets - Pumice, silk finish (glossy) with push catches (no handles)

Pumice is a beige colour - this is someone kitchen where they have used Pumice for their lower cabinets

Benchtop - Quantum Quartz, Coral Reef

Glass splashback - Stone drab - what a name!

It will have a mirror flake through it which gives it a slight shimmer.
The glass is a surround to the window splashback so it won't be a large piece of this colour.  I will be able to
look out the window at our land and trees swaying gently in the breeze as I stir pots on the stove :)

My new oven -Bosch 900mm Freestanding electric oven with gas cooktop

I really hope I love this oven.  I don't like our oven where we are renting.  In fact I've realised how good my $100 ebay oven was in our old home.  I could cook in it!  Here things turn out undercooked, overcooked, burnt, deformed, and occasionally good... this oven has lots of functions.  My old oven had 2 functions - ON and OFF.  I know it will take time to get to learn how to use the oven in our new home, and I hope I will come to love it.  It was such an agonizing decision.  I wanted to upgrade from the spec appliances but with champagne taste (I love the look of the ILVE tepanyaki grill double ovens) on a ginger beer budget - I settled on the 900mm Bosch oven which has a really good Choice review and thanks to a friend's tip of a sale, I got a good price for it.

I haven't decided on a rangehood yet.  It will be concealed under the upper cabinets.

I would love one that sounds like this...  (silent, not shrieking)

but may end up with one that sounds like this... quieter = more $

When it's all put together, it should hopefully look something like this, with lighter upper cabinets...
