DAY 77 - A round vent does not fit in a square hole!

Tuesday 31st October, today I met the aircon installers onsite as they were cutting out the holes for our aircon vents.  This gets done before painting so that they don't damage the paint at all.

I had spoken with the boss and decided on all round vents throughout the house, even though they usually install square vents downstairs in 2 storey homes.  We prefer the look of the round ones.  The square vents look more like a commercial vent.

So after talking with the boss, meeting the guys onsite and walking through room by room to check the positions and telling them how we've decided to have them all matching, it seems something was lost in translation and they cut 2 of the vents downstairs round and 4 vents downstairs square!  Are you kidding me?  It's irritating when we're trying to make sure all the house things we're arranging separately to the builders go smoothly and then this happens.

They can't change the square holes into round ones as the round vents don't cover the corners of the square holes.  Now I have to call the site super to tell him we need holes patched by the plasterers!  Not a call I'm looking forward to!

I will be meeting the boss on Monday and sorting it out.  They're happy to fix it however we want as it was their stuff up.  What a pain :(

The chippies are also onsite starting on the door jams, actitraves, skirting boards and hanging the internal doors.
