Things are moving slowly the past couple of days so I'll just add it in all together here. There's work being done, but it's fiddly and seems to take f-o-r-e-v-e-r!
I met with the aircon boss yesterday and they will pay any costs for the plasterers to patch the holes and then cut round holes where the square ones are. The site super is not worried by it and will have the plasterers do it. He thinks they may not charge but we'll see...
The chippies have been working on the arcs, skirts & jams some more. Not real exciting to post a pic with a couple of bits of wood put on. It's time consuming work and each door and room is individually measured and timber cut to size. I counted that a door jam consists of approx 12 pieces of wood. There's about 20 doors, the same number of windows, and the skirts. That's a lot of measuring and cutting!

The timber battens have also been put up on the front facade. They are primed pink - no we're not keeping them like that :) They will be painted a brown colour. We're told they will have a 'timber look' once they're painted but I'm not sure about that. I've seen another house the same as ours but I think they upgraded their battens to stained cedar so you can see the wood grain in it. I'm expecting ours to look a bit pov... but we'll see.
Today the box gutter about the patio was installed. We weren't really sure what to expect as all the display homes have a balcony, and the plans didn't really help us visualise it. But we really like it! There was a piece of gutter on the ground last week with some dings in it, we think they must have tried to fit a one piece gutter and it didn't work. That's now in 'the cage' (onsite rubbish dump). A new gutter was installed in a few pieces. Some of the silicone work is pretty rough so we've asked for this to be tidied up as we look at this through our bedroom window.
The over hanging room provides good shelter from the rain and the gutter connects to a downpipe so more water for our tanks :)
The laundry bench top and tub was installed today. It's not as pretty as our stone bench tops will be but is practical. I like the nice big tub!
I'm not sure what's going on with these kitchen people, but I've also noticed that the shelf in the cupboard above the laundry tub is crooked. I've measured it and the small holes that the plugs go in to support the shelf are cut at different heights. Another thing for the list of fix ups...
The kitchen doors beside the oven have been swapped over as I hadn't liked how they did it so asked it to be fixed up as per our plans. I'm happy how it is now, but not happy with the rough job they did. The just swapped the doors and now there's extra holes on the cupboard side panels where the hinges were. They didn't even try to neaten it up with the little white plugs they have to cover screw holes. I've asked for the side panels to be replaced as I don't think my cupboard should look like swiss cheese because they can't read a plan.
Yes... I'm a bit cranky :) But we didn't spend hours deciding how we wanted things and then say here take our money and do a dodgy job!

I've come to the realisation that our house build is building our home. We are emotionally invested in it. For the tradies, it's just another days' work...
115 days and counting down - it can't come soon enough!
