DAY 69 - Who ordered the flatpak stairs?

Tuesday 23rd October.  When I stopped by this morning the site clean up truck was there and he'd loaded a heap of the old (wrong) bricks onto the dump truck!  We had wanted to keep those!  Kindly he threw down what he could from the top of the pile.  So I thought I better move what we wanted to keep so it didn't get taken next time.  Bricks are heavy!  After several trips by hand to behind our rock pile, I loaded up the boot with bricks and drove it around the back of the house to unload :)  There's probably another couple of boot loads but it was hard work.  I'll get those later in the week and maybe take some muscle with me to help :)

It seems that I have watched too many episodes of Grand Designs where they bring in huge and beautiful staircases prebuilt in a custom workshop.  Ours comes flatpak!

Today I also had to provide the cabinet makers our kitchen appliance specifications because they didn't have them.  I had provided them to the builder mid July so not sure what happened as I was told they would go on our file.  Hopefully it doesn't delay installing it on Friday.  I'm really excited to see the kitchen!


I also called our carpet suppliers to find out how much notice they need and at what stage they want to measure up.  They booked our carpet for installation at the end of November.  It's too early, but they said that way they will put the stock aside so if we can get in before Christmas they will be able to do the install and not be waiting on stock to arrive.  We can push the date back to whenever we need to.  Hopefully not too long :)


129 days left... I can't wait for a handover date!
